Salams to all,

Had a couple of requests in regards to the stand of Music in Islam.   Here is what I undertand and have found.....PLEASE my request to read it properly and further research yourself...InshaALlah.

"This is because Quran and song can never coexist in the heart"....'Ibnul Qayyim'
(Either one has to get-out....its our choice)

 “From among the artful machinations and entrapments of Allah’s enemy (Satan), with which he has snared those possessing little good sense, knowledge and deen (faith), and by which he has stalked the hearts of the false and ignorant people, there is the listening to whistling, wailing, hand clapping and song to the accompaniment of forbidden (musical) instruments.(Plse try and look into the instruments that are forbidden by the Prophet(SAW).
Such instruments block the Quran from Peoples Hearts and make them devoted to sin and disobedience. For song (to musical accompaniment) is the Quran of Ash-Shaytan (Satan). It is a dense veil and barrier, preventing nearness to Ar-Rahman! (Allah).
By way of such song, Satan deceives vain souls, making it appear pleasing to them through his cunning appeal to their vanities. He insidiously whispers false, specious arguments suggesting the 'goodness' in song. These arguments are accepted, and as a result, the Quran becomes an object of neglect and abandonment.”(Ibnul Qayyim)

Recent researches have shown certain Music that kills plants and in human dramtically suppress the immune system.  It has also been proven that music can make body very acidic. This is negative music? It is music that stimulates the negative emotions: anger, frustration, depression, hatred, terror and fear.  It is the music that accompanies crime programs and horror films.  We now have so many kids killing parents based on music and its harsh words.  Use your Eyes to see good and witness it for RIGHT PURPOSE only.  Use your Ears to hear what has been designed by Allah to hear what is Normal.  The consequenses will be Negative if we Habbituate ourselves to hear what is Abnormal. 

Further more, groups sprang up during this period. In truth, hard-rock, hard drugs, mixed with psychedelics were having an effect. The world was witnessing a new phenomena: musical groups of young people were using electrified instruments to bring in a new music that was harmful to the human psyche, destructive, and angry.  Now we have a generation of 'ANGER'.  Whereas 'ANGER' is the main attributes of the 'DAJJAL'.  A total generation of 'BREAKAGE IN THE SOCIETY'.  Anger of Parent and Child.  Anger between Husband and Wife.  Anger between different Sects.  Anger between People and their Leaders.  It's Anger upon Anger....

What kind of people have we become????  Nothing seems to bother us anymore. We tend to encourage our kids with such kind of music and T.V programmes.  Marriages, Birthday Parties, or any Celebration, cannot be rejoiced without hard, loud and strong MUSIC anymore.?  It's difficult to be a resturant or shopping mall without it.  It's everywhere anyways, and we as Muslims make it our it our leisure and passtime or an hobby to listen while studying or jogging or eating....etc etc...We want to get the big degree of B.A.M(Being a Muslim).

We may listen to Quran, but it won't enter our hearts.  Did we ever try to understand what it is that is 'Blocking Our Hearts from understanding it and implementing on it'???

"There will come a time upon the Ummat when people will recite the Qur’an, but it will not go further than their throats, (into their hearts)".(BUKHARI)

The Noble Qur'an - Al-Isra 17:64

"And Istafiz [literally means: befool them gradually] those whom you can among them with your voice (i.e. songs, music, and other call for Allah's disobedience)..."

Hadith - Bukhari 7:494

Narrated Abu 'Amir or Abu Malik Al-Ash'ari that he heard the Prophet saying, "From among my followers there will be some people who will consider illegal sexual intercourse, the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks, and the use of musical instruments as lawful.  And (from them), there will be some who will stay near the side of a mountain, and in the evening their shepherd will come to them with their sheep and ask them for something, but they will say to him, 'Return to us tomorrow.' Allah will destroy them during the night and will let the mountain fall on them, and Allah will transform the rest of them into monkeys and pigs and they will remain so till the Day of Resurrection."

There is so much BENEFIT of Listening and Adhering to what the Quran has to say.  There is so much more I could put it on the table in regards to the Negative effects of Music.  But I think the above Hadith and Verses of the Quran should be enough for all of us to try and avoid what has been PROHIBITED and Declared as Haram by Most of the Scholars.  All is just not said by the our Prophet(SAW) and by the learned.  It's based on Knowledge and Practicle Experiments...Alhamdolillah.

There are a lot of us who loved MUSIC and now have thrown it aside.  It was difficult.  But then the Quran and light Nasheeds took over our worldly vices.  Yes, there is no doubt that when we are shopping, or in places where there is music, and we can't do much about it except to move out of there asap.  The domination of MUSIC is everywhere.  MUSLIM and NON-MUSLIM land and houses.  In such times, try and avoid as much as possible, make a way out, specially from those who are your closest of families and friends.  Make it up in such a way with other actions and advice in an appropriate time and way, that they do not 'REPEL' against you, but in a way that if not today, there will be a tomorrow that you maybe able to make them understand...INSHAALLAH.  Least we could do is STOP the personal habit of listening to music and lowering the volume whenever you watch a movie and tv commercials. 

 

And The Bottom-line is, WHO ARE YOU GOING TO MEET ON THE DAY OF JUDGEMENT ??  AND WHO DO YOU WISH SHOULD BE THE ONE CONTROLLING YOUR HEART. ???....The Quran or Music..??????

 

THE CHOICE IS YOUR..................................REMEMBER?? ONE HAS TO BE OUT....INSHAALLAH.

Bening Hati Berbalas Surga

 

Suatu hari, Rasulullah sedang duduk di masjid dikelilingi para sahabat. Beliau tengah mengajarkan ayat-ayat Qur’an. Tiba-tiba Rasulullah berhenti sejenak dan berkata,”Akan hadir diantara kalian seorang calon penghuni surga”. Para sahabat pun bertanya-tanya dalam hati, siapakah orang istimewa yang dimaksud Rasulullah ini?. Dengan antusias mereka menunggu kedatangan orang tersebut. Semua mata memandang ke arah pintu.

 

Tak berapa lama kemudian, seorang laki-laki melenggang masuk masjid. Para sahabat heran, inikah orang yang dimaksud Rasulullah? Dia tak lebih dari seorang laki-laki dari kaum kebanyakan. Dia tidak termasuk di antara sahabat utama. Dia juga bukan dari golongan tokoh Quraisy. Bahkan, tak banyak yang mengenalnya. Pun, sejauh ini tak terdengar keistimewaan dia.

Ternyata, kejadian ini berulang sampai tiga kali pada hari-hari selanjutnya. Tiap kali Rasulullah berkata akan hadir di antara kalian seorang calon penghuni surga, laki-laki tersebutlah yang kemudian muncul.

Maka para sahabat pun menjadi yakin, bahwa memang i-laki itulah yang dimaksud Rasulullah. Mereka juga menjadi semakin penasaran, amalan istimewa apakah yang dimiliki laki-laki ini hingga Rasulullah menjulukinya sebagai calon penghuni surga?

Akhirnya, para sahabat pun sepakat mengutus salah seorang di antara mereka untuk mengamati keseharian laki-laki ini. Maka pada suatu hari, sahabat yang diutus ini menyatakan keinginannya untuk bermalam di rumah laki-laki tersebut. Si laki-laki calon penghuni surga mempersilakannya.

 

Selama tinggal di rumah laki-laki tersebut, si sahabat terus-menerus mengikuti kegiatan si laki-laki calon penghuni surga. Saat si laki-laki makan, si sahabat ikut makan. Saat si laki-laki mengerjakan pekerjaan rumah, si sahabat menunggui. Tapi ternyata seluruh kegiatannya biasa saja. “Oh, mungkin ibadah malam harinya sangat bagus,” pikirnya. Tapi ketika malam tiba, si laki-laki pun bersikap biasa saja. Dia mengerjakan ibadah wajib sebagaimana biasa. Dia membaca Qur’an dan mengerjakan ibadah sunnah, namun tak banyak. Ketika tiba waktunya tidur, dia pun tidur dan baru bangun ketika azan subuh berkumandang.

Sungguh, si sahabat heran, karena ia tak jua menemukan sesuatu yang istimewa dari laki-laki ini. Tiga malam sang sahabat bersama sang calon penghuni surga, tetapi semua tetap berlangsung biasa. Apa adanya.

Akhirnya, sahabat itu pun pun berterus terang akan maksudnya bermalam. Dia bercerita tentang pernyataan Rasulullah. Kemudian dia bertanya, “Wahai kawan, sesungguhnya amalan istimewa apakah yang kau lakukan sehingga kau disebut salah satu calon penghuni surga oleh Rasulullah? Tolong beritahu aku agar aku dapat mencontohmu”.

 

Si laki-laki menjawab, “Wahai sahabat, seperti yang kau lihat dalam kehidupan sehari-hariku. Aku adalah seorang muslim biasa dengan amalan biasa pula. Namun ada satu kebiasaanku yang bisa kuberitahukan padamu. Setiap menjelang tidur, aku berusaha membersihkan hatiku. Kumaafkan orang-orang yang menyakitiku dan kubuang semua iri, dengki, dendam dan perasaaan buruk kepada semua saudaraku sesama muslim. Hingga aku tidur dengan tenang dan hati bersih serta ikhlas. Barangkali itulah yang menyebabkan Rasulullah menjuluki demikian.”

Mendengar penjelasan itu, wajah sang sahabat menjadi berseri-seri. “Terima kasih kawan atas hikmah yang kau berikan. Aku akan memberitahu para sahabat mengenai hal ini”. Sang sahabat pun pamit dengan membawa pelajaran berharga.
